For the community connections project I decided to interview an artist who goes by 2 different stage names. In his individual music he goes by “lucio” and he is also in a music group who makes joke rap names Mc Virgins. I chose to interview him because a lot of my friends and I like to listen to his music and he was a big inspiration to me to try to make music. I interviewed him through Instagram dm’s and he replied to me with voice messages. Here’s the interview:
After having him reply to me the things that really stuck with me was when he was talking about how Mc Virgins was most likely going to fade out of the spotlight within the next 4-5 years made me realize how it wont be permanent even if I manage to get popular in making music. It is a field that is really hard to stay relevant in and because of that it is something that is not very stable in the long term. Now when I make music I see it as more of an activity and something that I can do with my friends but not a job I would want to pursue in. This information connects to me because making music is something that I like to do with my friends and sometimes on my own.
