Define – The problem I had was that when it gets too warm in locations, certain crops cannot grow. Wheat specifically, it can only grow between 12c and 25c so when the weather gets too hot it cannot grow. This is why I made a dome that keeps the wheat at a steady temperature.

Discover – I had to learn more about wheat and its growing conditions. I also had to figure out how to use my given resources in Minecraft in order to make the dome and to connect an a.c. to it.

Dream – Ideally then dome will be big enough to plant at least 100 crops with 2 massive air conditioners on the sides. Also I want a way to make a thermometer in Minecraft because it is not something that is included in the game. I will use snow golems in minecraft “mini air conditioners” to produce the coldness and have pistons to push the air into the dome.

Design – I first needed a thermometer on Minecraft so I used an empty map and drew out the number 17 into the floor so it would be displayed on the map. I used snow golems as air conditioners to produce the cold air and pistons attached with redstone to push the air into and out of the dome. I also made a slow falling waterway so that the water can cool on its way down. Because of this the water isn’t too hot, that would ruin the whole idea. I also had compost bins scattered through the wheat so that if any of it dies, it doesn’t go to waste.

Deliver-

Debrief – I could’ve made the building better, I had wished for it to be circular but in Minecraft it is incredibly hard to make a big circle. Also I wish that the snow golems wouldn’t move because sometimes they move into the sunlight and they would die as a result. Something I did well was the redstone configuration to make the pistons turn on and off constantly without stopping to keep the air movement going and also I think that the inside of the dome’s organization looks very neat. Lastly I liked the way the waterfall worked so that it moves a lot slower and takes more time to reach from the sky to the crops. I learned how to use features in Minecraft such as empty maps and drawing on the floor so I can display something of choice and I learned how much dedication and precision it takes to plant and maintain healthy crops.

Great explanation of how you used the solution fluency to address growing wheat in increasing temperatures. Great work sharing the sources of your research. You included very effective media showing what your solution looks like. Awesome job. one though: how can you innovate around where the water comes from?

I like the idea and I like how easy it was to understand.
