Indigenous Exploration – Residential Schools

Making the assignment was pretty tough to begin with even though we were given a good amount of sources to get information from. We did do pretty good to manage who did what and who was gathering information for which part and got lots of information fast that way instead of us all getting information about one section. While recording we realized that we didn’t have enough information to make it last that long so we spent some time gathering information and recording as we went while others could have been recording. I communicate my learning by showing what information I gathered with my group mates and compare it to what they got.

Minecraft solution (water storage tanks) by: Devin

Define: The problem that I decided to tackle was sea levels rising. The rising sea levels is a really bad problem for humanity and the environment and the animals that live in it. My solution to this problem was making storage tanks that contain any water that rises to a certain level. It then cleans it and then dispenses it into buckets for people that are thirsty or need water for something else. I think it is a great solution because not only does it help with rising sea levels. it also helps people who require clean water, thus killing two birds with one stone.

Discover: I learned that the process of cleaning sea water is known as “desalination” and is used commonly more and more around the world. this is usually done by boiling the water and thus removing any bacteria or types of germs and salts in it. This will make it pure and ready to drink. I have also learned that water tanks are already real things. But I still made them work in other ways than just storing water.

Debrief: My only problem was that I didn’t have many ideas for the discover part. I had no idea what questions to ask or what to research. The rest of my project went pretty smoothly.

Element Sway project

Reflection questions

1: What did the Au symbol in gold mean? how much does gold weigh/cost?

2: I have never used Sway before so basically everything was new to me

3: I came up with a question then searched it up, checked at least 2 websites to see if the answer/ main idea was the same and then put said answer/main idea into my own words as best as I could.

4: I checked other cites and saw if they had the same info

5: It was much faster and easier than I thought it would be. If I had gotten anything wrong, maybe I should have went a bit slower and checked things more.
