Digital Footprint

How might your digital footprint  affect your future opportunities?  Give at least two examples.

If I were to post any photos or videos that are inappropriate and/or affect my reputation in a bad way, any people that can see them that are Public Health Experts: Try 'Footshake' Instead of Handshakemy co-workers, family members or anyone else,  it could harm my future opportunities. people could think of me as a bad person and not want to hire me, work with me, etc. On the other hand. If I were to post anything that affects my reputation in a good way (ie. me being a good person), people could see it and think of me as a person that they would like to be acquainted with, hired, etc.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

Thinking ahead

you can start by thinking before posting. You should think about if it is a good picture to post. Next you should always remember who is going to see what you post so you should remember to keep it family friendly. A good way to keep your digital footprint safe is to know who is subscribed/ following you. If someone you don’t know follows you and sees any sensitive information such as your family and where you live, they could do bad things with that information.Logo family friendly

What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I’ve learned that you should always be aware of what you are posting and who will see it because everyone can. unless you make your account/posts private. If any of my family or friends were to post something that may have sensitive information I might just remind them that they should make said post or account private
