Neuron communication

Dendrites: Receive mesages from other cells

Axon: Passes messages away from the cell body to neurons, muscles, or glands.

Myelin: Covers axon of neurons and helps speed up neural impulses

Terminal bulb: Forms junctions with other cells

Action potential (electrical signal) happens travelling down the axon

Action potential reaches the presynaptic terminal

Neurotransmitters bind to the receptors

Arrival – NT release – Binding – Conversion – Deactivation

The receiving neuron decides to give if all the added up signals reach a specific level, if it does not, it will not give.
