Minecraft Solution Influency – Rising Temperatures
Here is my science influency project.
Define: Our earths surface temperature has increased from the greenhouse gases released when people burn fossil fuels. The amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere has been rising for decades and it traps more heat near the Earth’s surface and it causes the temperatures to rise. Our atmosphere contains more greenhouse gas molecules, and more infrared energy from the surface and ends up being absorbed by the atmosphere. Now more of the extra energy from a warmer atmosphere radiates back down to the surface and the Earth’s surface temperature rises.
Deliver:
Discover: There have been many people who have made improvements to the energy efficiency and the vehicle fuel economy. Now there are increases in wind and solar power, biofuels from organic waste, making a price on carbon, and trying to protect forests. We use theses ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and to trap heat gases on the planet. There are many effects of rising temperatures. One of the main effects are heat waves. They are dangerous and can cause illnesses such as heat cramps, heat strokes or even death. Warmer temperatures can have a chain reaction of other changes around the world. Increasing air temperature can affect the oceans, weather, snow and ice, and plants and animals.
Debrief: Something I did well was building my project on Minecraft. It was my first time ever using Minecraft so I am ver proud on how it turned out. I was also able to research and think about the climate issue. With more time I hope I can improve on my creating skills in Minecraft so I can do better on future creating assignments. I struggled on using sway because it wouldn’t let me screen record. Overall I really liked being able to present my climate project in a new and creative way.

Building Molecules
Element sway project
part 2 questions:
1) What questions did you need to research in order to create your sway?
I needed to research questions such as: who discovered plutonium? When was plutonium discovered? Who named plutonium? How is plutonium used? What is plutonium’s melting and boiling point? Etc ..)
2) What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?
I used some of the same digital tools to research that I have used in the past. I have used the sites Nrc.Gov, Britannica.com and Chemistryexplained.Com. New digital tools I used for this project was the sway app.
3) What was the process you used to investigate the topic?
I researched about this topic on a couple websites and was checking to see if they were reliable sources. I wrote down my information about this topic and I asked questions to my teacher about certain parts of this topic.
4) How did you verify and cite the information you found?
I checked multiple sites to see if they had the same information and I used recommended cites from the teacher.
5) How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could have done better?
I think the process of completing this challenge was good. I worked hard, researched, added lots of information and analyzed the information. I could have had a better schedule for working on this project or explored sway more before starting the project.
