Note to my English 10 self

Hi Daniel, this class was honestly one of my favourite classes. Some things that really stuck to me where how to make a spoken work and have confidence to present Infront of a school. I really liked this class because of it’s fun atmosphere and the teaching style. My goals in English 10 are to be more orginaized and to prioritize the class more. Just stay focused in class next year and get 90+%. Hope to have a blast and n English 10.

In Street Pharm, Allison van Diepen explains us the danger and strategy of being a big time drug dealer like 17 year old Ty Johnson. In this novel, van Diepen shows us that with bravery and confidence, one can escape out of the drug culture. When Ty’s dad get locked up in jail because he got caught in jail, at the age of 13 Ty has to keep his dad’s business. For 5 solid years Ty was the king of the street’s, a powerful figure in lower Manhattan. Slowly Ty realized that this business destroyed all the things that he loves in his life. He ignored the warning signs at first but after his partner in crime got shot and killed he called it quits. Ty got himself out of the dangerous business and focused on what he loves and needs. The novel made us realize that you don’t have to get blood on your hands in order to gain success.

Why was it a good idea for Ty to quit his fathers big and successful business? He decided that it was a good idea for him and his career. He saw that the business killed Sonny and separated Ty from what he loved. She chose to go back to school and got back with Alyse. Stopped completely with drug and illegal money. He chose that quitting was best for him and his family/loved ones.

Rant

16 year old girls will protect their text messages more then their virginity,

Our generation is so pathetic that a friendship could be broken by a virtual message,

We pay attention more to a YouTube video then a suicidal best friend,

We use our finger to speak more then our mouths,

And when we do open our mouths,

We pick on the geek in the back of the class,

We call him a try hard or a nobody,

Not knowing that, that “geek” will be your boss in 10 years and will practically own you,

We us our phone more then our head,

If we lose our phone we cry for 5 days,

But if we lose a father we cry for one,

A 13 year old girl will most likely be holding a lighter to light a blunt rather then a candle

Life has been made into a game of Simon says,

Anything society tells you to do you have to do it,

If not, your considered an LG, and no one will like you

Girls look if a guy has a big house not a big heart,

But will that house keep you safe from all your insecurities,

We are blinded my the fact that we are spoiled,

Looking always at the worse not the better,

We show more respect to the class clown then our teachers,

We pay more attention to our clothes then our academics,

Our life is determined by a letter,

Not our personality,

We are in fact too dumb to use our words,

Instead we use guns and creat war,
You will not give change to a homeless in need,

But you will spend $5 betting your friend over a video game,

We will be happier too see your mom bring food from Costco,

Then your family come visit from Europe,

We say we have progressed,

But have we really?

Figure it out

You throw me around,

I thrash the ground 1000 times a day,

I can be played indoor or outdoor,

I can make or break hearts,

I touch plenty of hands and soar in the air,

As I hit rope fans cheer,

You can be poor or rich you can buy me,

I bring kids and adults happiness,

There’s only one of me a game,

I sphere shaped,

I can be any colour,

But I resemble a orange,

I can be played whenever,

Celebrities play with me,

I can be flat or hard,

If you put something sharp inside me,

I will be dead,

But look at the bright side,

There are millions of me
