This is our podcast about residential schools
Indigenous Exploration Self- Reflection
1. My experience creating this assignment was good because I got to learn a lot more about the atrocities that the first nations people had to endure.
2. Our path in researching the topic was searching up many relevant topics that were related to the residential schools and then we used the info we found to write our script for the podcast.
3. Some obstacles and items we learnt in recording was people walking by and talking very loudly which caused us to have to edit out their voices and the leaves in the background were very loud and we also had to edit out the noise that the leaves made.
Option 1: My artifact ties in with what I have learned before because I had to use critical thinking in this assignment when deciding what words and sites I should use when writing the script. My thinking has changed because I now know what the First nations people went through. Parents had to say goodbye to their children who were forcefully taken away from them and children who attended the residential schools were given horrible treatment they weren’t even allowed to speak in their own language, or else they would get punished by an electric chair or other horrible punishments that should never happen to children because the upcoming generation of first nations adults would be more aggressive and possibly become addicted to drugs so they could forget about their previous experiences at the residential schools. In the end this assignment really helped me understand the atrocity’s the first nations people had to endure.
