In the play “Death of a Salesman” written by Arthur Miller in 1949 there are many examples of tragedy through out the play. A brief synopsis for “Death of a Salesman” is about a loss of identity and a man’s inability (Willy Loman) to accept change within himself and society. The play is a compilation of memories, dreams, confrontations, and arguments. The play “Death of a Salesman” fits within the category of Tragedy because throughout the entire play you see examples of stress, distraught, regret, and suffering. My blackout poem illustrates the diamond which is a symbol for Willys brother Ben becuase he went to Africa and mined diamonds and became rich. My poem also explains Willys sons which throughout the play Willy is nagging at them and telling to achieve something in life. After reading this the reader should have gained the knowledge of the play” Death of a Salesman” and how my blackout poem fits in with the play.

DOAS Monlogues
The following is an example of monologue created for the character Happy in “Death of a Salesman”
This is a monologue because he is having a extended and uninterrupted conversation. It is also being directed to other people on stage
The monologue would fit in the current plot when Willy and Howard are talking about business and then Happy has a private conversation after Willy and Howard are done talking
Happy: My life is great at this time in my life, i got plenty of girls, and I gotta good job. But I’m confused about my father. He brings home barely to almost no income from his job that he’s always on the road for. Just recently my mom found that he is trying to kilo himself and I’m very worried for him as I love him. My mother is just doing her things such as making stockings and being a regular stay at home mom. My brother Biff on the other hand ain’t doing so well. He doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life and my father isn’t impressed. He’s been asking me to move out to west and start a ranch/farm with him but I’m not sure about that. So like I said my life is pretty good.
Howard: Wow, your life sounds pretty good
