The London portrayed in “1984” is controlled and run by propaganda. Signs, telescreens, surveillance, media, are all woven and lined with propaganda to make citizens obey what Big Brother wants. The government uses fear to control citizens by always watching them. They use bandwagon techniques to make people support the movement and make those who don’t outcasts. They use transfer to make Big Brother seem holy and perfect.
