EDIBLE DNA PROJECT:
1. What is DNA?
DNA is an acronym for deoxyribonucleic acid, and DNA is what makes cells work. It makes them produce things, lets them know when to die, and function as a whole. DNA is in every cell of the human body and is always almost the same in each cell of the same person. DNA is made in the shape of a double helix (a twisted ladder like shape). The 2 sides of the DNA ladder are made up of sugar and phosphate. The little rungs of the ladder are made up of 4 nitrogen bases: adenine, cytosine, guanine, and thymine.
2. What DNA does?
DNA caries genetic information. DNA also has the information that an organism (Animal or plant) would need to reproduce, grow, and function as a whole. DNA also houses the instructions needed to create proteins inside of it. DNA can also be in the form of chromatin, chromatin can then go on to make x shaped chromosomes, which have various information in it, like how tall you are, to how your nose is shaped.
3. How does it copy itself?
the first step of DNA copying itself is having 2 strands of the DNA becoming detached from one another, this process is made easier by an enzyme called Helicase. next, and enzyme called primer will make out where to start the replication on the new detached string of the DNA. Next a different enzyme called DNA polymerase 3 connects to the primer, and then starts to add new nucleotides to the new disconnected string of DNA. When DNA polymerase 3 is done adding all of the new nucleotides, DNA polymerase 1 goes in and replaces the RNA part of the primer, replacing them with DNA. When that’s done, a new enzyme called ligase will go in and make sure that everything is connected.

Excellent work posting a picture of your edible DNA with what DNA is and what DNA does. You included a complete explanation of how DNA copies itself in your own words. Good job!
