WEX Goals (Learning Plan)-Work Experience 11

My three goals going into your work experience:

1. Feel more prepared for the transition from high school to post-secondary  
2. Better my communication and be able to connect and engage with others 
3. Better my skill at acquiring and presenting knowledge 

 

My reflections of how these goals we met during my work placement:

1. Feel more prepared for the transition from high school to post-secondary  
   1. I have gotten the chance to experience both first and second year classes and have gotten to work in the environment of a post-secondary setting. This has made me feel more comfortable and more knowledgeable on what is to come after graduation. 
2. Better my communication and be able to connect and engage with others 
   1. I got the chance to collaborate with others on labs, projects and research such as the muffin lab and tie dye lab where we read processes, researched, then discussed what we had learnt. I also was able to connect more with my peers during this work placement as we have had time to talk and connect throughout the day. 
3. Better my skill at acquiring and presenting knowledge 
   1. During my work experience, we had many opportunities to research before labs. During research time, I was able to work on my research skills to be able to best answer the questions. After research we would often have a discussion to share our new knowledge and to better understand it.
