Prediction
my prediction for which fruit or vegetable will conduct the most electricity is that the lemon will conduct the most electricity. i chose the lemon because it has the most citric acid.
Results
1 lemon: 0.6 volts
2 lemons: 0.9 volts
1 potato: 0.3 volts
1 orange: 0.2 volts
So that shows that the lemons created the most electric charge
Observations
When we connected to zinc and the copper to each fruit/ vegetable, it depended which side we connected the wire to. if we put the zinc on the right side of the lemon and copper on the left side of the lemon it will give us a negative charger but if we switch them so zinc on the left and copper on the right it will give us a positive charge.
Thoughts
My guess is that the fruit has citric acid in it that are conductors and that is why we are able to push electrons and make them flow thru the wires. The light bulb that we were given to try to light it up using the voltage from the fruits and vegetables did not work. the reason it did not work was because he gave us light bulbs that need a minimum of two volts to power it and no one in our entire classroom came close to two volts.

Hello Chris,
I like how you experimented with more than one type and number of fruits/vegetables. It seems like your voltage increased when you added another cell, why is that?
You’re correct in saying that citric acid conducts electricity! However, conduction doesn’t mean it is the source of electron flow? How can you check this?
Well done,
