Principle Of Flights

  1. Draw a path of trajectory of your rocket

2. Which force is acting on the rocket at the moment of launch? (use arrows to indicate direction)

3.  As the rocket was half-way up, which force(s) is/are acting on the rocket?

Drag,Thrust,weight,lift

4. As the rocket begins to veer into another direction, which force is acting on the rocket? Explain why this is happening.

when the thrust goes down  so does the  lift which makes drag and weight pull the rocket down to the ground.

5.(A) Did some rockets work better than others?

yes all of them were different in some way, some went more far some went less far

5. (B)How does the shape of the nose and fin effect the trajectory of the rocket?

it helps stabilizes it, however if it is uneven or to heavy it will weight the ship down

5.(C)Explain in terms of the four forces that act on a rocket ship.

the fin can help the lift by making a a low pressure fast air zone

it can make the weight and drag bigger depending on shape and material

it can  effect thrust by cutting through the air

                   ROCKET SIMULATIONS

  1. What was your maximum height and speed? What was the Mass, Thrust and Thrust time on your high score?

2. Why does the rocket fling around the moon/Earth? What is an orbit?

Because gravity weights the rocket down

An orbit is when an object goes around and around and around another object\

3 .What is the co-efficient of drag?

4.
