I think the message of this picture is gender inequality because as I’m looking at it the 3 woman are struggling to keep the podium up and the 3 man are just standing there smiling. It’s easy for men to go up than women since they struggle to go up.  Mostly men get more opportunities than women since society is unfair on gender basis.  They think women don’t all have the strategy society mostly relies on men for example if a man and a woman start from the bottom when they both try to build a business. For men, it’s easier for them to step up because a lot of people are investing in their stocks so they get more opportunities coming as a woman it is harder for them to step up because in society a lot of people are sexist they favor men more. Mostly women-owned businesses tend to receive less funding and investment is crucial for business growth. Most women are housewives so are stay home wives because either their husbands want to stay home or take care of their kids. So that’s also why they don’t have any opportunities to focus on what career they wanna do. I used this idea to describe it since its easier for me to describe that this picture message is gender inequality. I think the intended message of this is inclusivity seeing that these woman are struggling and the 3 man are not including the 3 woman from their success or they should included woman.

I feel bad for the 3 woman that are struggling

What does the image/picture seem to be trying to say? (What do you think the owner/author is trying to say to you?)

I think the author is trying to say is this picture if about gender inequality and that its unfair for the three woman that are struggling while these men are happy because of there success but actually the woman’s were doing all there work for them.

Color: How is color used in the image? What effect do the colors chosen have on the viewer?

For the 3 woman the author made them dress up the same outfit hair color as well and for the 3 man the author also did the same thing the author dress them up the same.

Angles: Are we looking from above or below? What is the camera angle? How does this affect what we see and how we feel about it?

The angle of the camera was front so everyone could see it and it made me feel bad for the woman that are struggling because they shouldn’t do the mans work.

I have a few questions about Shawnigan Lake soil dumping my question are Will it happen again in the future? or Is it still occurring right now in different places? What plans have been made to effectively address and prevent soil dumping in Shawnigan Lake while also maintaining the conservation of the lake’s environment and the neighborhood around it?  How do soil dumping techniques change in the future to ensure minimal environmental damage and regulatory compliance?  What possible actions are being thought about now to stop dirt dumping and safeguard the ecosystem in the future?

Acquire

The information website I used was Gale to research some information about the topic that I’m doing and I only found three websites on Gale that I could use for my research. After I went to Gale I went to Google to get more information as I read through the information I made a document for my notes. I put the websites that I used on a citation machine called easy bib because my grade 8 teacher taught me how to use it and it’s been helpful whenever we have to research something. For the images I use Pixel for one image then I used creative commons.

Analyze

When I put all the information into the notes I made it into my own words that I wrote then I made my sway presentation. I added the images to each slide that I put the questions in after I added the answers below to the questions I had. The image citations where I got it from I put it at the end of my sway presentation and the other websites that I used. The websites that help me with the research I’m doing used Google then I made sure I used a citation machine called Easy Bib.

Assess

Things I could have improved about my sway are I should have added more slides on my sway and I should have developed more questions to ask. Next time if I ever do note-taking I’ll try to add more words like what I knew from the article I read as well as I should look for more information about the Shawnigan Lake soil dumping. When I work on my sway I should use my free time wisely so I could get it done earlier or work on it during weekends.  I couldn’t find any picture that could fit with my questions in Pexels I mostly use creative common images I only found one picture from Pexel that fit with the question.

Introduces the title of the short story and provide a quick summary of the story

The title of my story is vacation house it’s about Maria and her boyfriend moving into her grandparent’s vacation house. As they stayed there in the middle of the night she hears nails scratching through the wall as well as downstairs she could her screams she goes downstairs to check it out. She runs to the kitchen to get her pill that can cure her anxiety attacks. The next day she calls Elise to exorcist the ghost and during the night as Elise tried to talk to the ghost she could see how the past was then the ghost tried to get inside Maria’s body after that she was possessed.  Her soul was lost in the dark realm she tried to find a way back to her body when she found her body she went back to the normal world then they got rid of the ghost.

Discuss the theme the story conveys, and how it fits your short story unit.

I connected the sea devil’s theme to my story  my theme that I wrote for sea devil was “Sometimes people don’t realize the terror of a situation someone or something is in until they are put in the same situation.” They both have a terrifying situation since in the sea devil  the man gets attack and the ghost wanted to scare maria also the ghost wanted to get inside Maria’s body. Maria was also lost in the dark realm she was trying to find her way back to her body and the man from sea devil he was nearly killed he was trying to survive.

Explain the process you took to create this project

For the brainstorm sheet I always messed it up or I had to re-due all of it again because for the 2-6 I thought we had to write about the short story when the teacher checked it she said we had to make our own story after that I deleted everything I did.  I wrote the my own story as the teacher was checking it when I messed up the first question in the brainstorming I also got some help and she gave me examples. After that I was thinking of writing a horror story I got the ideas from a horror movie insidious and for the location of my story I got it from conjuring. After I wrote my synopsis I look for images in night Cafe I think I use the night Cafe a lot that the other ones it took me a while to find some images because the other images I found it didn’t really fit on my story. I also check out Craiyon I found really nice images for my story and I had to re-write my text Promp a lot to find the images I wanted. After I found the image I was gonna use for my movie poster I also look at some ideas for my movie poster because I didn’t know what to do after I did my reflection.

Discuss the ending type of the short story you created

What did for my ending was I made it into a sweet ending  maria was lost into the dark realm she was tryna find a way back to her body. When she found a way back to her body she was back to the normal world and to her body the ghost exorcist then they left the house moved back to there old apartment with her boyfriend.

Discuss how this project builds upon one of your skills in regards to the core competencies

I think I made new ideas because I wanted to make my story connect to some horror movies and I added all my ideas together to become all one. When I was writing my brainstorm sheet it give me ideas on what to write for my synopsis and I wanted it to connect to sea devil but a ghost instead of a manta ray.

Write a concluding sentence that wraps up everything

Maria and her boyfriend left the house and they she lives happily with her boyfriend on there old apartment.

1. Define

While we were building our house our lights always were working because it always burns out, whenever we tape the wires together they always disconnect it was frustrating because we have to take out the tape and then twist the wire together. When we twist the wires together it always gives us a hard time since they won’t stay together we would take turns and when we cut a hole for the switches to go through we always cut it too big. Every time we cut wires it was either too short or we would accidentally cut the insulation wire it was sometimes frustrating because the yellow wire cutters weren’t available it only has a few everyone took it we had a hard time with the other wire cutter since we didn’t know how to use it. When we put it all together we realized the bottom lights wasn’t working we had to re-re-due it again. In this picture, this is what I and my partner did but the bottom lights weren’t working and our battery was hanging in the back.

2.  Dream of possible solutions to the problem.

We could of change the format of our circuit to make it better from the start and we should of test the light if they were working before attaching them all. Cut the wires to a perfect length not put tape immediately because there’s a possibility that they won’t stay together. We could glue a cardboard on the hole we cut in accidentally and put wallpaper over it. We could ask the teacher for help when were doing something wrong and we could make a battery holder so it wont fall all the time.

3. Deliver a solution to the problem. Print your design. Document the process.

When we had to re-due it we ask the Ms. Cho for help she help us change the format for our circuit. instead of 3 lights on the top floor we put the three lights on the bottom. We also change our wires so that the lights can light bright because before it was really dim. This time we didn’t tape the wires immediately instead we did it last. We build a battery holder for our battery in Tinkercad  and we put cardboard then glue it on the holes and we added wallpapers to cover it.

 

4.Debrief the quality of the process you went through

We made our circuit design in Phet simulator then we sketch it me and my partner we decide on making a bedroom on the top floor for the bottom we wanted to make it into a living room. We connected the wires and lights together after that we add switches on the sides then add some wires. While we were testing everything the bottom lights were dim then the next day we tested it again it didn’t work . We had to move the top middle light to the bottom we change the wires in the back. We tested it again it worked this time and we re-did our phet simulator as well as our sketch.

What are some ways that you use to communicate your learning?

Some ways I communicate my learning are after school when I get home I read books because it helps me improve my writing and speaking. Sometimes I  like working in a quiet room because it keeps me focused and I get some work done. Whenever I listen to music and do my work at the same time it gives me the courage to keep working. I seek help whenever I don’t understand something and I like doing work with friends because it keeps me going. I think I’ve improved on my learning over the years because I got better at writing since before I usually write little now I can think of more ideas
