How might your Digital Footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least two examples.

My Digital Footprint could affect my future university, they will probably check my social media and other things online before letting me in the university. and if they saw bad things about me it could affect my future university. When you interview to a company and the person interviewing you may search up your social media, your name in terms of online safety and awareness of what you do online. If you have done something that was not appropriate, this might affect getting into a job that I want.

Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your Digital Footprint appropriate and safe.

Make sure that whatever you do online, you won’t regret it later. Posting an embarrassing photo but if you delete it soon after regretting posting, it won’t be deleted forever. The post that have been deleted can still be around and maybe if someone screenshotted your post and maybe they will post it again.

Often times hackers and people like those can break into your accounts so you should have secure and strong password. Do not tell anyone your passwords even to your friends especially online. You should be the only one who knows your passwords.

Avoid telling information online. if you posted something that you thought you’d be okay with posting it, but then years later you regret it, there is no going back. To prevent this, try to avoid posting or social media as much as possible.

What Information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

I learn that everything you post online stays there forever like all the pictures you post or shared. and it also can affect you when you apply for a job or university when they look up your name and saw bad things about you and they may not consider accepting you. I would tell to other students to be aware of what you post on the internet, and that anything that you post online will be there forever.
