I just saw the Captain Marvel movie and really enjoyed it so I wanted to hear what other people had to say about it. I really enjoyed reading the article because I felt like it gave a voice to many different people of different race, age, and views. The author did an incredible job of blending quotes from people and descriptions of the movie together. The article expressed how important it is for people to be able to escape into a work of fiction. The article also demonstrated how important and still unusual it is for women to see multiple strong female characters in a superhero movie. I also liked how the author made connections with the MeToo movement and the fact the movie was released on International Women’s Day. I am really glad I read this article because it opened my mind and allowed me to hear other people’s thoughts on a movie I recently saw.
