Monologue Video – “Orlando”

This is my monologue in the head of Orlando Johnson.

He can’t be in town; I gotta kill him. This is bad, very bad. What are they going to do? What can I do? I need to talk to my son. Darkman cannot be here in Brooklyn. I must protect Ty. If Darkman kills Ty, its over for our business then they are on top. I need to call up Ronnie for another job, he can do it for me. He can kill Darkman. Does Darkman want revenge for what I did to his brother. Hope he learned the lesson from last time when the Kings want to be the top dog in the town. I need to tell Ty soon that he is in town or they are going to get themselves killed like a bunch of dummies. What is going to happen if Ronnie messes up, then Sonny and Ty will end up in jail with me. My buddy Michael is getting out soon maybe he can join Kevin King’s gang to see what’s up. I need to send Ty a post card so he can come talk to me ASAP.  

Reflection: 

Creating my monologue was hard for me at first because I have never written anything this way before. As I got to writing the ideas and the concept of how to write a monologue started to flow through my mind and thus it became easy for me to come up with ideas. My avatar came very easy to me the author had described Orlando in depth. This was perfect for me because it made creating Orlando to life easy. I chose Orlando Johnson because he has a big part in Ty’s life. Orlando was the one that had made Ty a hustler. In the part that I was reading Darkman which is Orlando’s enemy was in town, this was bad because Orlando is in jail and could not help Ty. I wanted to do this seen because this is when they introduced Darkman, as how I wrote in my monologue that Orlando is worried about him. Tactics that I used to bring my character to life is my avatar, I wanted to embrace the essence of Orlando as much as I could and in my writing I wanted to make him sound like he was a worried Dad. Therefore this is my Reflection to my monologue.
