Commercial fishing is endangering Whale sharks with non-selective fishing gear and bycatch. In most circumstances, the shark gets hooked and then injured while the fishermen try and release them. Or when nets are left in the ocean they can get caught by the shark and strangles them.

Changing the equipment that commercial fisheries are using. Also, doing more research and finding out where the high levels of sea life they are not trying to capture is to reduce the chance of them getting caught in the nets as well.
