Week 4, Feb 23, 2023 – inquiry project & life below water  

This week I mainly worked on my life below water project, I added fines and a tail. I was apprehensive about the tail however, it worked out pretty well.  When I let my whale shark dry I made a heart plate in my spare time.

My most considerable success this week was making the tail of my whale shark. For this reason, I was struggling to come up with a way they put it on. When talking to my friend about it he said I should just make the top half. I tried this and it ended up working.

My biggest struggle was my heart plate, I didn’t glaze it perfectly and it is very disappointing. When doing the underglaze I thought I made it thick enough however I didn’t and it looks very streaky. Also, I didn’t glaze it all the way around so it isn’t fully food safe.

My goal next week is to have my life below water project underglazed.  Also, hopefully, I can make another mini-project and get better at underglaze.
