This assignment really got me thinking about how much plastic is in packaging, and how bad it is for the earth. We use plastic so much when we are shopping at stores with the plastic bags we use to bring our groceries home, the plastic bags we use to put our fruit and vegetables in, and the plastic baggies we use to put snacks into.  Ofcrosse there is other packaging like boxes and the milk cartons, but I do not think you see alot of pacakaging that doesnt have plastic in it. I feel like they use plastic mostly because it is easy, keeps things from getting messy. Or they just haven’t found anything as sustainable that is good for the environment. When you think about it more and more there is a lot of negative things about plastic than positive. Yes, it makes it easy to bring things from the store to the car than the house, but then that’s it. After that, the plastic bags usually go into the garbage unless u reuse them. Even if you are reusing them they will still end up in the garbage sometime or another. Also with plastic rappers after we eat the food we just through out into the garbage, because it id leterly garbage that all plastic is. It takes so long to decompose and most of the time it does not even decompose when they bring it to the land fills. Honestly even if we reuse plastic bags for as long as possible, the same thing a happens as soon as u put in it in your garbage can, they just put it into the ground.

There are plenty of new ways that we can prevent as much land fill to happen, for example instead of using plastic bags for snacks use rubbermade containers or glass containers, bringing your own reusable bags to the store, or you could even go to non plastic stores where most things are in bulk. Therefor you don’t need to buy products that have plastic in them.
