This week in math we learned about negative exponents. I thought they we’re very interesting to learn about because it’s such a simple concept but it can change your whole equation. it’s also very funny to me that the only thing you have to do to get the exponent positive is move flip it with it’s reciprocal which in many cases is just one.

when we got to bigger equations I started having more trouble with remembering that rule but with more practice I think it will become a lot easier.

another thing I learned was scientific notation which is linked to negative exponents and just exponents in general. it was a much easier way to write big numbers and I am hoping that it will help me in science this year.

an example of scientific notation is  456200=4.562×10^5
