This was definitely a scary assignment to go into, as it’s very detailed and seems difficult. However, once I started I ended up finding a flow and it was quite fun. It did take a while and it was a lot of work, but it was worth it in the end because my understanding of functions are clearer than ever. I thought I was pretty well off before this project, now I’m almost a pro at figuring out and understanding functions. Some challenges I encountered along the way, were mostly related in finding ways to manipulate certain functions to satisfy the image. I ended up finding a way past those problems by adding smaller, more precise functions or in some cases adjusting certain details in the picture like making my hair shorter or adjusting the shape of my scrunchie. Another big challenge for me was the shading. I found this difficult because they’d overlap or not completely meet so further into the process I added constant functions to help me shade more precisely. Choosing the types of functions for each part came pretty easily to me. After taking a moment to see what I wanted to illustrate, I was able to visualize which function would match. Sometimes my intuition didn’t work, but I was able to quickly come up with new ideas. This project definitely gave my brain a challenge, but it was a fun and creative way to help me further my comprehension and learning.
