Practice Film Review- “Short Fuse”

Scrapped Robot found by scavenger

Carissa Wong

The short film “Short Fuse” was directed by, RAFANAN MICHAEL ROBERT UY, and produced by LI JINLONG with SEN LAI. It took them 6 months to make the film and it turned out really good. The animations of “Short Fuse” is breathtaking with the characters expressions was making the film more funny and it was not something that someone could just do. The little grunts that Bob makes when he gets angry makes the film express itself more.

Bob, a scavenger was looking around in the metal scraps when he suddenly comes across a single robot in the mist of the garbage.  He brings it to his house to fix up, but something happens along the way that Bob thought was a miracle, and it instead turns out to be a nightmare. Bob needs to figure something out about the robot that he finds and what to do with it.

The story seemed to drag on a bit, but some parts were interesting including him finding the robot and him helping the robot in the end. Those parts seem memorable to me and it did not seem that they just put it there for decoration.
