What role does Trickster play in First Peoples literature?

April 30th, 2023 – English First Peoples 12

Throughout our Trickster unit we have discovered many different representations of the Trickster. Using these vastly unalike representations, we have been tasked in creating a concept map that answers the question of : What role does Trickster play in First Peoples literature? My concept map include the Trickster characters from Raven Steals the Light, a Native American tale, Coyote and Grizzly Bear Make the Seasons and Day and Night, from the legends of the Secwepemc, The One About Coyote Going West by Thomas King, The Long Dance by David A. Groulx, Poem Without End #3 by Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm, and Coyote and Salmon, from the legends of the Secwepemc as told by Lawrence Michel.
