Psychology Core Competency Critical Thinking

In psychology 12, I used the critical thinking competency the most. Some of the problems I’ve encountered were unfamiliar terminology/vocabulary while researching about disorders, not being able to find reliable sources for my DSM, having to study twice as hard to cover for all of the lessons i missed while I was absent, how to make my concept map, etc. These were really stressing me out, but I took everything slow and steady. First, I brainstormed ideas about how to do the concept map and discussed with my friends for more ideas and their suggestions, which helped me make the concept map quicker and easier. When I encountered unfamiliar words, I googled them and added them in my vocabulary for future use. When I missed classes, I got help from my teacher and friends to get back on track, while also keeping up with the new assignments and tests coming up. I also studied at home which made things easier. Writing the personal DSM took me a really long time, as I had around 22 full pages in it. At first, finding reliable sources were difficult as a lot of fake websites popped up in my feed and with virus ads, so I was a bit cautious. But eventually, I identified which websites were trustworthy and which were not, so I just used the ones I deemed reliable. With the sources I used, I was able to write 22 pages and finish my DSM with no further problems other than getting no sleep and rest. At the end, I didn’t give up and got over the obstacles I encountered through will power and thinking critically. Dedication and determination is what got me here.
