1) What questions did you need to research in order to create your sway?

I only really needed to research about niobium and all the questions that where provided for us to put on our sway which I just used one of the websites that I was using to answer, but some questions where the founder and when it was founded, melting point and more.

2) What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I didn’t use anything new, but I did use a citation machine which helped me cite my sources, I have used this before I just wasn’t very experienced with it.

3) What was the process you used to investigate the topic and how did you verify and cite the information you found?

I looked up the question or topic that I wanted to know, and then I went on the provided website to see if it looked good and if the information was good quality and then I would cite it and copy then paste on my edublogs.

4) How did the process of completing this challenge go? What could you have done better?

Next time the only thing that I would do with my project is getting the sway done and actually have a good understanding of how to use sway since I have worked with it before, but I wouldn’t do anything different the next time.

Exposition

Definition: an exposition is a comprehensive description and explanation of an idea or theory.

The exposition is about junior introducing himself and his life problems

In the beginning of the book, he is explaining who he is and his characteristics and how he has imperfections about himself. He mentions how he has a bigger head than most kids because he has a condition called hydrocephalus which makes his head have more “brain fluid” than he should. Another consequence of this disorder is for him to appear to have a bigger head. He also explains the names that kids called him a lot of names and made fun of how he looked. He explains how he has a dad and a mom and a sister and a grandma and his best friend, Rowdy. This plot point is important in the story because if we didn’t have this, it would be way more difficult to piece junior and what he was like in our heads.

Of course, we put me as junior and I pretended to be being bullied because we thinks that that sums up how his personality is. I also tried to make my head look bigger as juniors head.

2 initiating incident

Definition: The inciting incident catalyzes the plot and solidifies that attention. Sometimes they overlap, but the incident tends to require more exposition than a hook

The initiating incident is when junior throws a book at his teacher, Mr. P

The initiating incident in the story is when junior gets mad at Mr. P because he is using the same textbooks as his parents did and how they do not have any new textbooks and they must learn the same thing as people have for the past 20 years. He knows that his parents have used the textbooks because his moms name is written at the front of it. This plot point is very important because it leads up to Mr. P coming to junior and given a suggestion to go to a different school, which is Rearden.

In this scene we used a math textbook as he used a textbook to throw at Mr. p too. Also, I didn’t actually throw a book I just pretended to.

3 rising action 1

Definition: A rising action is a series of events that happen right before the climax

The rising action 1 is when Mr. P comes to junior and suggests him to go to Reardan.

Right after junior throws a textbook at Mr. P, Mr. P comes to junior and request or suggests that he attends a school called Rearden. Junior thinks about this offer and decides to take it. This plot point is very important because it is literally what takes him into everything that happens in the story because everything pretty much happens when he is attending Rearden.

In this picture we took in on a bench and we made it look like Mr. p was explaining to junior of how he should go to

Reardan. We also had knowhere for Antonia to go so we just made her juniors dog as a ghost.,

4 rising action 2

Definition: A rising action is a series of events that happen right before the climax

The rising action 2 is when junior tells rowdy about how he will be transferring to Reardan and unfortunately gets beat up

After junior gets offered the spot at Rearden, he goes to tell rowdy about the news but is a bit nervous because he knows that rowdy despises Rearden but he choses to tell him anyways. He tells him and he doesn’t take the news very good and starts beating up junior because he thinks he’s a coward. This plot point is important because without this the feud between junior and rowdy wouldn’t have started. If it wasn’t for this and as we know if you have read the book leads to more key events.

In this picture we had me lay on the ground outside as junior and Antonia overtop of me pretending to beat me up just as rowdy does in the story.

5 rising action 3

Definition: A rising action is a series of events that happen right before the climax

The rising action 3 is when junior is officially transferred to Rearden from Mr. P’s request

When junior arrives at Rearden he obviously feels out of place and shy and sad because as we know junior doesn’t find many friends and his best friend as for Rowdy, they are not friends right now. So, he’s feeling overwhelmed and not good, 89and he is second guessing his choice. This plot point is important because when he is a part of Rearden a lot of things happen that will happen soon. I think that honestly when junior is at Rearden it’s the most exiting and most key important moments in the whole book.

In this picture we had me and other people stand in front of the school entrance with our backpacks as if we where entering the school for our first time.

6 climax

Definition: he most intense, exciting, or important point of something; a culmination or apex.

The climax is when junior and his team at Reardan wins the basketball game against the reserve and rowdy

This is a really big moment for junior because he was still really mad at rowdy for embarrassing him at the game before so he is obviously really happy to beat rowdy’s team so when he wins he is happy and he also very exited because he won with some of his new friends and as all of this is happening rowdy is getting more and more angry. This plot point is important because he finally feels accepted into Rearden and he feels happy.

For this game we went outside with a basketball and had Antonia as rowdy shoot the ball as I jump in the air and pretend to block. We also incorporated Eman as a extra player.

7 falling action

Definition: Falling action is what happens near the end of a story after the climax and resolution of the major conflict.

The falling action is when junior is mourning his sister and grandma’s death

In this part of the story in my opinion is when junior is the saddest because he lost his sister and his grandma around the same time so its a lot of loss for a little kid like him while he already has some tough stuff going on at the same time. I think that this is like 2nd most important part of the story because we really see how much of junior that we don’t see and how vulnerable he can be. Well, I mean he is kind of a wimpy kid, but we really see how much he cares in this part of the story.

In this photo we put a rock that we found on the floor and put me on my knees with my hands together as if I was praying or mourning. We edited Antonia and Eman into ghosts and made the little rock that we where using to make into a bigger gravestone.

8 Conclusion

Definition: the end or finish of an event or process.

The conclusion is when junior and rowdy play basketball at night for their last time together

This one part of the story is the most important and beautiful part of the story to me because I can relate to it a lot

because in summer me and my best friend went out to play basketball in the nighttime a lot and there was just such a special feeling about doing it that made it so cool. I could never imagine going out to play basketball at night with my best bud while knowing that it might very well be the last time it ever happens. I found that in this part of the story you also feel what junior is feeling. I knew that he was sad, but I also knew that he was happy and glad for the memories of everything. I think that this is a important plot point because for one you couldn’t end the story without it and also as I said it might be just me but this was where I felt most connected to the book.

In this photo we just went outside and pretended that we where playing basketball but I put up my thumb to make it look like me and Antonia where friends in this scene.
