Volunteering – City of Port Coquitlam

What I would volunteer for is a spring break camp for the city of port coquitlam. I would chose this because I would like to increase my leadership skills and potentially become better with kids and be a good leader. this could benefit me in the future in many ways from if I want to start babysitting, or even if I have kids in the future, I will be more familiar with handling kids and younger people. Its not that I’m really the most passionate about this, its more that I see the most benefits coming out of it. Other areas that it would be useful having this job is even places where you need to have good communication, and patience skills because in a kids camp those are both very crucial to having everything go smoothly. other than that, that is why I would choose, and why this volunteer program would most likely be the best for.
As for my employment opportunity I found cashiers being needed for work. This would be a good job for me, because as far as basic money and customer handling skills, this job does all of the above. Even though this job isn’t the biggest in the bucks earned, I can still make enough money to save up and help me in the future as well whether that is for a car or even my education. When I was researching on this job it did not say anything about age the I saw, but some requirements that where listed included basic money handling skills and communication skills and also the ability to lift 50 pounds or more. To be a little more qualified and suitable for this job waiting maybe one more year might not be the worst idea, and also maybe getting more familiar with handling money so I can be fast and efficient with it.
