In my Science 9 class I was given an assignment to review an app that could be used in my chemistry unit. I chose the app Atom Builder. Here is my review!

Hey Caitlin,
Very nice power point, organized and simple. I thought that the review was a good length because it was not to long and to to short while containing all the information somebody would need if they were considering using the app.
I loved the amount of information that you presented here in this powerpoint! I’m a sucker for powerpoints with a lot of information. Another thing I loved about this presentation is how you presented it. The presentation looks very appealing overall and the amount of media in your presentation was perfect as well.
Wow good job Caitlin! It looks really good! I love how you added pictures and colours instead of just black ink! You had very good questions also. It would have had the slightest bit of a better understanding if you added some more functions that the app has. But overall your presentation was very well done and it clearly explains how you feel about the app.
This app looks like it could teach someone who was new to this a lot about this particular subject and get them started and caught up with his or her work! I might try this app someday!
Hi Caitlin!
Awesome presentation! I like how you used Powerpoint Online to present. I also liked how you went in depth with the answers for all your questions, as it made the whole thing a lot easier to understand.
Note: The app doesn’t use a Bohr model. Do you think this could cause confusion for students studying basic chemistry?
Otherwise, thank you for telling us about this app! I would have definitely used this app when we were studying Chemistry!
Sincerely,
Sara P
Hi Caitlin, very well done! I love how descriptive you were when writing this power point and I found it very easy to understand and relate to. I do have one thing that I found kind of troublesome though, on your fourth slide you stated that the atomic weight is in the top left corner and the atomic number is in the bottom left. in fact, it is the other way around. On a proper periodic able the atomic number (number of protons) is stated in the upper left-hand corner while the atomic mass is in the bottom left-hand corner. other then this one minor thing, your post was very good and is very convincing to give this app a try. 🙂
What an interesting review! You went into immense detail about the focus of the app and how to use it. I enjoyed that you also asked if the app was interesting. The fact that you also had your peers participate in the testing of the app is very smart of you. It’s always good to get a second opinion.
