Science 9 – Space Distances – China

Process Paragraph

My scale for the project was the distance between Bank of China Tower and Victoria Peak which was 1700 metres (1.7 km). The process I used was to use the math formula (1700) x (x) / (1000) x represents the planetary Astronomical Units (AU’s).

Here are the Formulas

Mercury

1700 x .387 / 1000 = .657 km (657 metres)

Venus

1700 x .722 / 1000 = 1.22 km (1,220 metres)

Mars

1700 x 1.52 / 1000 = 2.58 km (2,580 metres)

Jupiter

1700 x 5.2 / 1000 = 8.84 km (8,840 metres)

Saturn

1700 x 9.58 / 1000 = 16.28 km (16,280 metres)

Uranus

1700 x 19.2 / 1000 = 32.64 km (32,640 metres)

Neptune

1700 x 30.1 /1000 = 51.17 km (51,170 metres)
