The top 5 things that Pre-calc 11 has taught me.
- Vocabulary
This is the best math vocabulary that I ever had in years, I am able to talk fluent sentences in math terms, ways of solving, etc. The example of the math language I use the most is, vertex form, grouping, factoring, whole numbers, radicands, y and x intercepts, etc.
2. Problem Solving
I now know how to solve word problems much better than I did before, by using tools like X and Distance, Time and Speed to help solve. I am able to look at a word problem and use the information given to me to find the missing parts. I am able to determine what methods and tools can be used to help solve.
3. Simplifying/Factoring
I am now amazing at factoring because I know all the different ways to factor like completing the square, grouping, the box method, quadratic equation and much more. Simplifying is such an important and basic skill to have so I am happy that I am really good at it.
4. Graphing
I now know a new resource that can help me check my graphing practice, by using Desmos. At first I did not know how to really use it and the assignments on it was tricky but after a lot of practice this year using it I believe that I can confidently use it to check my graphing work.
5. Angles
I understand angles much more than I did last year. Last year all I did was memorize how to solve but now I know how to solve and I understand how I got that answer. At first it was complicated after missing 4 days but after awhile I was able to figure how to solve.
