Paragraph-
Our subject is complex and compound sentences. The first thing we did in our video was break down our definition for complex and compound sentences by explaining terms like independent clauses and dependent clauses first. Next, we gave examples of the clauses and compound and complex sentences. We also explained what separates the independent and the dependent clauses in the complex or compound sentences. Another thing we did was telling stories to help better understand complex and compound sentences with aliens for example our story for the complex sentences is. The independent clause is like alien, and he is about to go take over another planet. He has all the supplies he needs to go by himself. Then the dependent clause alien comes up and asks him if he can go with him, because he knows he can’t go alone, and he doesn’t have the supplies to go. The independent alien agrees, and they invade the planet together. They realize that they worked a lot better together than if they had gone by themselves. So, they went and invaded earth. After the stories close to the end, we gave even more examples to give the watchers a very clear understanding of the different types of sentences. One of the examples was : I think you’d enjoy the party, but I don’t mind if you stay home. This is a compound sentence because they don’t need to be together to make sense and make a full sentence, but they sound better together. The last thing we did was test the watcher’s comprehension of the sentences and gave a few examples that they needed to define.
