At first, working with mixed radicals and setting up equations that included fractions in radicals felt really confusing, especially with negative exponents. I struggled to understand how to simplify the expressions and where the fractions fit in. It was frustrating at times because I wasn’t sure if I was doing the steps correctly, and the numbers didn’t always seem to work out the way I expected. But instead of giving up, I kept practicing in my workbook throughout the week, and little by little, things started to make sense.
I learned how to solve both whole numbers and fractions as coefficients of radicals, which helped me set up and solve equations better. I learned what to do when there is negative exponents and how to reciprocate when needed. I also got better at simplifying radicals and breaking them down into their simplest form. At first, I would make small mistakes, like forgetting to simplify a fraction or misplacing a coefficient, but by going over each step carefully, I started to catch those errors and understand the logic behind the process.
