There are four writing types in English
The first one, the “narrative” writing type, is the type that tells a story or event. They always include characters in them. They also have a beginning, a middle, and an end.
The second writing type, expository, is used when explaining something. It often has facts behind it to prove it and explains what the author is trying to explain in a process, making it easier to learn.
The third, descriptive. The descriptive writing type is used when an author goes into fine detail on how something happened, and is often poetic. The author does this by explaining how your senses would feel if it was happening to you. Allowing you to better visualize it.
Last but not least, persuasive writing. This is when someone gives their opinion on a topic and is trying to convince you their opinion is the correct opinion. There are many reasons and arguments to prove they are correct. Of course it’s just an opinion, and whether you want to believe it or not is up to the person reading it.
After reading the comic, “Represent: It’s a Bird.” by Christian Cooper, I believe that it would be both narrative and expository writing types. My reasoning for thinking it’s narrative is because it tells a story, has multiple characters, and has situations that involve some form of action. In the case of expository, I think it’s expository because it visualizes past events, making it have some form of information, hence why I think it’s expository as well.
The comic is showing us that you shouldn’t discriminate others by what they look like. Whether it be skin tone, hair style, or any other part of them. We are all equals and should treat eachother as such.
