The Assignment:

 

You will be observing your host throughout the day.  There are 3 parts to this assignment:

 

Part 1- The Interview: Observe your host at work, at some point interview your host and record/make notes of the results

Part 2 – Reflection: After the day is finished, reflect upon your experience and answer the reflection questions Part 3 – Post Your Assignment to Your Blog: Once your have completed Part 1 and Part 2 post it on your blog. Make sure you take pictures and/or videos to document your day, you can place them in your blog.

The Interview:  (ask your host these questions)

 

1. What is your job title?  Her job is a teacher.
2. What is your job description? She is an educator that is certified to teach kindergarten to grade 12.
3. What are the duties and/or tasks you perform at your job? Her duties and tasks include: lesson planning and teaching lessons, helping students with homework and assignments, classroom management and she teaches all subjects.
4. What qualifications do you have for this job in the following areas:
5. a)  training? An English degree and a degree in education.
6. b) education? Same thing as above, nothing extra to add.
   1. experience? This is her 3^rd year teaching, plus 4 years of classroom volunteer experience.
   2. skills and attributes (personal qualities)? She can play piano, plays sports, and is relatively good at drawing. She is also patient, caring, and enjoys assisting others.

5. What are some of the things you like about the job? She enjoys helping students more than anything and likes helping them grow, and just being there to help students.
6. What are some of the things you dislike about this job? She dislikes roudy/loud classes.

 

7. How do you anticipate this job changing in the next 5 years? The lesson planning will get easier and the curriculum will change in the next 5 years.

No. It requires too much effort for me and I don’t have the patience to deal with a whole bunch on 9 year old’s yelling about Fortnite.

4. Explain the value of the TOKTW experience in relation to your ideas about your post secondary (after high school) plans (education?, training?, travel?, work?).

For what I plan to do? TOKTW had no value to me at all. My mother doesn’t work so I had to go somewhere else. I chose to assist a previous teacher of mine and then that teacher was sick so there was a substitute.
