Propaganda poster English 12

My Propaganda poster supporting the Machines perspective The Machine Stops by E.M Foster English 12. I used Canva.

NO MERCY ON PRIMATIVISM, THE MACHINE MUST PROGRESS!

Propaganda posters are pieces of art that use images and text to spread a biased message and manipulate public opinion. Posters are also a way to show our history with propaganda in the past. Some kinds of literature can have a propaganda aspect to its story that can expand lore and or create depth to it. The Machine Stops by E.M Foster has Kuno’s perspective of how he sees the Machine and How the Machine is portrayed in the story can create propaganda. For my propaganda poster for The Machine Stops, I decided to follow the perspective of the Machine. I wanted to make a poster perusing fear of disrespecting the Machine’s way of life, Transfer – -virtue by Association by linking the Machine as the authoritative position in this poster, and Deification as the machine in the story is shown as a god-like figure in the story so that its followers would follow the machine in its progression.  To achieve this, I used NightCafe AI picture generator to make 2 pictures to relate to one of the Machine’s goals of no primitivism. A picture of a modern-day construction site shows the primitivism idea with workers building by hand. Then another picture of the Machine and what it could become if it progresses further. I used 2 slogans from the story one from page 13 of the Mending Apparatus “The machine may progress” and language from another quote from the Mending Apparatus “On atavism the Machine can have no mercy.” I had to use creative thinking for this poster as I had to make a poster using NightCafe to tell the AI what I wanted for the pictures while also updating prompts to get a picture that would fit exactly what I needed. Then I used Canva to make a poster utilizing 2 photos to make it a side-by-side comparison.
