Freedom 18 Response
Braeden Mey

When I’m 18 I will be living with my parents for the time of my education, and I will have a part time job as well. I will have a used car to avoid big payments and will have insurance for obvious reasons. I will have to pay a cellphone bill and the cost of all of my entertainment, such ad concerts, movies, sporting events, etc. I will hopefully have money to put away in savings for retirement and unexpected expenses in the future. After considering everything I need/want and got rid of things I don’t need I’m left with a surplus of $168 per month. That is after considering all of the things that I need and don’t need to have. I believe that I can get by like this, as I have budgeted my expenses well. I had to cut the cost of some non essential things such as unneeded clothing and eating out. I have most of my tuition payed for by relatives and I just have to cover the cost of books. I believe I am living within my means with this budget and will get by just fine. I talked with my parents about this pricing and they agreed with most of it and just suggested that I lower some of the unnecessary costs. I end up paying $50 on cell phone, and $150 on entertainment which is lower than originally planned.
