Relations in Real Life Assignment

For our graph we decided to see how high Jacksons feet go compared to Dom’s head when he back flips. To do this we went to Gates park to have a flat place for us to do this. First Jackson started out of the frame of the camera then walked into frame as he got closer to Dom, then he did a backflip next to Dom, after he did the back flip he walked in a straight line out of frame.

Time (seconds) Feet Height (ft)
0.00 0.00
1.52 2.86
3.11 6.00
4.70 3.05
6.28 0.00
  • Title: How high can Jackson backflip
  • X-axis  Time (seconds)
  • Y-axis: Feet Height (ft)
  • Key Points: Start (0s), Midpoint Peak (~3.11s), End (6.28s), plus two intermediate points
  • Discrete or Continuous?
Continuous, the height changes smoothly over time.
  • Is it a Function?
Yes, each time has only one height.
  • Linear or Non-Linear?
Non-linear – the rate of change varies.
  • Rate of Change (Example: 0s to 1.6s)
    About 1.78 ft/sec = (2.84−0)/(1.6−0).
  • Constant Rate?
No, the speed increases then decreases due to jumping motion.

Indigenous Podcast – “Beaten”

The following podcast is about MMIW, we look at the story of Barbara Shapwaykeesic. We got our information off the CBC website for MMIW. To create the podcast, we first made a script and recorded using audacity. Then using Bensound to get royalty free music we edited and added music to our podcast. To create our podcast cover we used Night Cafe to get an imagine then cropped the imagine out. After we used Canva to put together and add text to the imagine.
