This week in math 10 I did a wonky initials project. To complete this project, I had to pick points on a graph that would create line segments that were my initials. After creating my initials on the graph, I needed to figure out the slope for each line segment. I had to be sure that none of them had the same slope as well. I then used Desmos and equations to graph my wonky initials. I needed to use all three of the formulas to create my initials. The three formulas are, General Form, ax+by+c=0, Point-Slope Form, m(x2-x1)=y2-y1, and Slope y-intercept Form, y=mx+b, I tried to do around an even amount of each type of equation with my line segments. After I made the equations for the line segments, I needed to use domain or range to make the lines have a start and end to fit into my original coordinate points. A couple of times I accidentally did range for domain or domain for range. I realised quite soon after that I had made a mistake as no line was showing up. I then looked back at the graph and my work and realised I had accidentally used the wrong axis to create the barriers of my lines. Overall, I enjoyed the project very much and found it an entertaining challenge.
