During the atomic theory unit my strength was, electron arrangement. At first, I was quite confused by electron arrangement, but because I was confused, I spent more time figuring it out and ended up with a heightened knowledge of electron arrangement. One of my weaknesses within the atomic theory unit was shorthand core notation. It took me awhile to fully understand shorthand core notation, as at first, I did not realize that the only elements we could shorten full notation with were the noble gasses.
Within the bonding unit my strength was, determining the VSEPR shape of molecules. I found this to be a strength as after I had drawn the Lewis diagram it was easy to determine the VSEPR shape. My weakness during this unit was, properly drawing Lewis diagrams for molecules. I found this to be the area I struggled with the most as I sometimes got confused by the molecules with lone pairs and multiple bonds.
While completing my mole unit this past semester I was most confident in my ability to convert moles, atoms, masses and volumes to moles and vice versa. I found this to be my strength as in most practice questions it was necessary to do this, so I got the most practice converting between them. I struggled with percent compositions the most during this unit. I did not practice percent compositions as much as other parts of the unit. When I got to percent composition questions in the practice worksheets it took me much longer to remember how to solve them.
I made some improvements on my goals throughout the semester. I consistently packed my bag at night before I went to bed. I made sure I had all the necessary materials for the next day so I would be less rushed in the morning. I did this by procrastinating less and finishing my work sooner so that I had more time to get ready for the upcoming day before going to bed. I am continuing to work on completing my assignments by order of urgency and creating more consistent study habits. I am also still working on creating a checklist of the tasks I need to complete before bed and in the mornings before school. To make this goal more attainable I would like to change it from creating a different checklist for each morning and night to creating a more general checklist that can be used each morning and night.
Great post Ayden. The layout is good and the contents are engaging.
