Scientific Method and Paper Airplanes

Hypothesis: If one basic paper air plane gets extra weight, then it will fly a shorter distance, because the extra weight will slow it down.

During this investigation I learned that a control group is needed in every experiment to be used as a model during comparison. During an investigation three different types of variables are employed, a dependant variable, an independent variable, and a controlled variable. The dependant variable is the data that one would observe. The independent variable is the one change that the scientist will test. The controlled variable is the variable that is consistent throughout the investigation.

Something that I would do differently next time would be, I would double the amount of weight I’m testing as it would allow me to put at least one paperclip on each wing of the plane, creating more balanced weight distribution throughout the paper air plane.
