Dear Honourable George Heyman, 

Hi, I’m a student from Riverside Secondary school. I have been doing some research about the MV Marathassa in the English Bay. I found the information very interesting and it seems like the MV Marathassa oil leak caused lots of problems. The leak affected the environment and many birds but the hardest part was when they had to clean all of it up. After the oil leak, they tried to fix anything that was damaged. But, has a plan even been made for the future so that cargo ships are safer? Well, after the incident, the Canadian Coast guard wanted to find ways to prevent, or be able to handle future marine spills. So, the Canadian Coast guard managed to find 25 ways. Hopefully, using this information, there won’t be any more marine spills. But, I wonder how did the oil spill happen in the first place?

Analyze: 

I think that analyzing my work was easy and not too complicated. When I was coming up with my critical questions, I had to first do research about my topic. Then after I knew what the MV Marathassa was, I then came up with questions to answer. After the critical questions, I came up with an essential question to answer. Before I created my Sway, I took notes and wrote all my sources down so that I would not forget. Then after I finished taking notes, I created my Sway and cited my sources. For all the information that I found, I clicked the citation button and I was easily able to add it to my Sway.   

Assess: 

For my overall product, I think it went well. During my process, It was difficult to come up with my essential question. I found it difficult because there were a lot of different options to use as my question. In my opinion, I found enough information to answer the critical and essential questions. I also think that I put enough detail into my writing. So, I think my overall Sway had enough detail and I also like the questions that I came up with.
