Week 15, March 30, Life Below Water Painting

Fish Sculpture with paintfish with paintPainted fish

Core Competency = CREATIVE THINKING: DEVELOPING IDEAS

Vocabulary Word = BISQUE

This week my Life Below Water sculpture was bisque-fired and was ready to paint, so I did many layers of acrylic. My sculpture felt a bit dull.  The sparkles were a last-minute addition to try and give the fish added reflective qualities. This last-minute decision shows how I can develop my ideas. My goal is to display this work paying attention to lighting, so I can capture the iridescent nature of this fish.

BISQUE- When a clay ware has been fired to a low temperature (Cone 04) to remove all moisture it has been Bisqued, and the clay can no longer be recycled.
