Define:

It is knowing and understanding one’s self-worth and personal values. It explains whether you make peace with yourself and accept yourself as you are or not. Feelings of esteem are often beliefs about yourself, including personal appearance, emotions, beliefs, avoidance, and behavior. Having high self-esteem is so important because people with healthy high self-esteem have a much greater chance of being successful in their life. Low self-esteem can be one of the leading causes to hold you back in life. Our self-esteem impacts our daily life, whether it is your personal or professional life. So, for our solution to boost other people’s confidence, we are making a little room with a couch, mirror and speaker. You start by walking up to the building and you will see the keypad which has a survey with some questions about yourself that you will need to answer the questions before you enter the building then the speaker will create affirming phrases that will come out of the speaker while you look at the mirror. You can stay or leave at any time, just stay for as much time that you feel comfortable.

Although self-confidence has always been with us, seen the day we were born people have not realized self-confidence was a thing till 1890 when William James a first coined the term. A person’s self-confidence or lack of self-esteem is influenced by many factors, for example your teachers, friends, and family can send a positive or negative message about yourself, this message whether it is good or bad can stay with you forever. You might be wondering how is someone’s self-confidence/esteem important and why is our group looking into this topic? Well, the reason that our group is looking into this topic and why it is important is because someone’s self-confidence/esteem is very important in society, your self-confidence/esteem can reduce crime, teen pregnancy, and a host of other social ills and maybe even pollution. Some ways you can help boost your confidence are by being kind to yourself, looking after yourself, focusing on the positives, and doing things you enjoy, for example if you enjoy dancing than you could make time in the day to have a little dance party or if you enjoy cooking than you could cook yourself dinner.

During this project we believe what we did best was the writing and creating of our script for the video. We all had equal lines, which we worked hard to memorize, and even though it took us more than a few times to get it right, it turned out great. One issue we experienced was the recording and file sharing of our video, however we worked together to solve that issue. One thing as a group we believe we could have worked better on was our communication and planning because it was very difficult to get everyone together at the same time so we could work on it. This project, we believe, is the best that we could have done within the time we were given. And this problem is something we all feel deeply concerned about and we believe our solution will help.
