The American Dream: What is it?

The American Dream

The American Dream

The American dream is something that a lot of people chase after. It is defined to be the equality of opportunities that are given to any American and allows the persons highest goals to be achieved. It is called the American dream because of the beliefs of the country in equality of opportunity. For many, this means getting a good job and earning lots of money, having a family, having a big house, and living a good life with opportunities that might not present themselves elsewhere. The American dream to others might be to live a better life than their parents or to give their children a better and happy life with more opportunities than they had. This dream is not something that can be easily achieved for most. It requires hard work, dedication, and what you are willing to do to succeed to achieve your American dream. I believe that the dream can be anything, small or large, and it will differ from person to person depending on what they want to achieve in their life and the only way they can see themselves achieving their goals/dreams is in America where all the opportunities are present for them, hence the American dream. Just because a lot of people chase their American dream, does not mean that it is the same as everyone else because everyone want to achieve different things in their life.
