While working on this assignment I tried to ask myself questions like “What are the applications for this element”. This question helped with research because I could find common use cases for said element and base my card’s attacks on these uses. For example while making my Lithium card I found out Lithium is used in nuclear bombs, so I included an attack called “Bombing Raid”. This made it much easier to design the attacks of the card.
For my research I used Google and Copilot. When searching anything I would begin by using Google and if I couldn’t find a good answer I would use Copilot. The advantages of Google included reliability, as you can find various sources and check who posted the information. Copilot’s primary advantage was speed. It was much faster to use Copilot as it could collect information from various sources in seconds. Overall I think Copilot was a more valuable tool but they were both useful in their own respects.
During my time working on this I made sure to fact check my information. Whenever using Copilot I would then look up that information on Google and check to see if it’s true or if it was just some irrelevant material brought up by the A.I. When using Google I would always use multiple sources to check consistency. If there was info that went against the info of another site I would then find a third site as a tie-breaker.
In the end my cards turned out looking good. The images represent their respective elements well, the information is clear cut and easy to understand and there was no lack of quantity either. Everything is visible and there is no overlapping text. Overall I think they look like real Pokemon cards.
