During week 2 we learned a lot about exponents, one type in particular that I found interesting was negative exponents.
To turn a negative exponent into a positive one is an essential part of mathematics. The first step is to take the equation and turn it into a fraction. Step two is to flip the fraction so that the base and exponent are now on the opposite side and the exponent is now positive. Step three is to expand the equation and the final step is to evaluate/simplify.
Negative exponent: An exponent that is not positive.
Zero exponent law: If an exponent is 0 then the base is canceled out and turned into a 1
Division law: When you divided a number, subtract the exponents from numbers with equal bases.
Multiplication law: When you multiply, add the exponents from numbers with equal bases.
Power law: Multiply exponents
