Minecraft Solution Fluency

Hello, this is my climate change solution fluency project.

Define:

The challenge I have been tasked with is cleanup of garbage and recyclizing in the ocean. There are many garbage deposits in the ocean in the world today. It has effected the animals of the ocean. But that’s not all the plastic and garbage does in the ocean. The collections of garbage in and on the oceans surface, will block the green house gases produced by the plants like algae under water. If you didn’t know, algae alone produces 50% of our oxygen.

Discover:

In the past we have done little until now to help with the collection of garbage and plastic. In the past we never cared for what we did or put into our oceans until now. In the past couple years we have been seeing and feeling the effects of our actions of dumping garbage and recycling into our oceans. Some things we are doing now are using paper straws in restaurants, restaurants take out food has been changing to compostable containers and people have been banding together in volunteer organizations such as “Team Seas” and Team Oceans” who are directly taking out garbage by hand, by boat, etc.

Deliver:

This is my machine to clean up the oceans. It’s called “The Great Filter” mark 1.

Debrief:

Looking back on my work I think I did well in most parts. However,  my introduction could have been improved. Some of the explaining I did have pauses and maybe stutters if you listen carefully. The outro was a little bit of a mess but what else could I have done.

Thank you for reading and listening.

  1. I enjoyed watching your video because it was very interactive and you explained your project with good descriptions and you made it easy to understand a complicated machine.

  2. What a great idea to create an ocean plastic recycler in Minecraft to innovate in the area of climate change. I think your creation is fantastic. The video of your innovation is well done. I would have liked for you to cite your sources so I could find out more about Pyrolisis and the invention by the France college students. Good work.
