What is Censorship?

A) What is a Censorship, and what can be censored

-Censorship is when any source of media is filtered, banned, or limited. For example, many profanity in cartoon shows such as South Park are censored. They are beeped out. Though there are different censorship policies with every broadcaster. Some may be okay with major profanity while other broadcasters are more mindful and decide to censor out many of South Parks profanity. The underlying problem being that South Park viewers are not politically correct and it causes controversies when such censorships are brought upon the viewers. While there are many out there that feel offended by jokes and humor.

I am generally not a fan of censorship but I do understand the reasoning of certain censorship policies. Such as censoring radical ideas. An example would be terrorism. Another thing I would support censoring is profanity against god, because that is simply unacceptable in a religious driven society. Things I believe are being over censored is specifically television, games, and entertainment. For example, there is no need or enjoyment to censor the f word.

B) A challenged book is a book that has been challenged in the motive of it to be banned. Usually by a group of people. While a ban is simply a ban on the book.

C) Catcher in the Rye is notoriously known for getting banned around the world. Still its a good sell to this date, but it fits the category well as it got banned for anti white content.

D) The book “Fahrenheit 451”, should not be banned by any means. At least from the amount I’ve read so far. It does however target Communism in a small sense, but Canada is not a Communist nation, and we condemn such ideas. So the book shall stay.
