what a DNA is

 It is made up of four different types of building blocks: adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T). It is a long, thin, and coiled chain. These nucleotides are arranged in a certain order that determines the code, which in turn determines the physical and biological properties of a living thing.

The double helix or twisted ladder-like structure of the DNA molecule gives it a distinctive structure. The hydrogen bonds between the nucleotides that make up the ladder rungs hold the two strands of the double helix together. Each strand’s nucleotide sequence dictates the corresponding nucleotide sequence on the opposite strand.

The nucleotide sequence in DNA dictates the amino acid sequence in proteins, which then affects the protein’s structure and function. This means that DNA is in charge of making proteins, which are required for all natural activity.

Plus, DNA is essential for cell division and replication. To make sure that every offspring cell gets a precise replica of its genetic material, a cell must replicate its DNA before it splits. While DNA replication is a fairly exact process, errors can still happen and result in mutations that could be good, bad, or have no effect at all.

Typically, during cell dviding, DNA can accurately duplicate itself with an error rate of less than one in a billion strands. This is achieved through a multistep process involving many proteins and enzymes.

The precise and timely replication of genetic information is guaranteed by the highly controlled process of DNA replication. There are many waypoints and repair procedures to find and repair errors that might occur during replicating. On the other hand, external factors including radiation, chemicals, and infections may change DNA, leading to variants, tumours, and other illnesses.

What further questions do you have after building this model?

some questions i have is what happends if you have 3 DNA strings and have more of the TATCGCTA on the 3rd DNA string. another question I have is what happens if you take out one DNA string. 

What answers can you find to your questions

some of the answers are: If an organism has three DNA strands, it would be highly unusual and likely a result of a mutation or genetic anomaly. It’s difficult to speculate on what would happen without more information on the specific nature of the third DNA strand and how it affects the organism’s biology.

another answer is: if one of the DNA strands is removed, the organism would likely experience severe genetic damage and potentially die. DNA contains the genetic instructions for the development, function, and reproduction of the organism, and the loss of a single strand could disrupt critical genetic information, leading to a range of deleterious effects. In most cases, cells have mechanisms to repair damaged DNA or replace lost strands, but the effectiveness of these mechanisms depends on the severity of the damage and the organism’s overall health.
